As the whole theme of my blog is zest = life, I thought to add another aspect which I am passionate about – photography, particularly nature photography. I am certainly no professional, but rather a nature lover who feels happiest and most inspired when outdoors, especially when surrounded by mountains or beaches. It is a standing joke in my family that I am “trigger happy” when outdoors with a camera, and it is not unusual for me to arrive home after a hike or trip outdoors with a few hundred sunset photos (much to my brothers’ amusement/frustration – “not another sunset photo – they all look the same!”…. Umm, really?!)

I am very blessed to live in beautiful Cape Town, where there is no shortage of natural  inspiration, but a few of my shots have been taken during my travels.

I hope these photos in turn inspire you to step outside and explore the beauty and wonder that surrounds us…. but don’t forget your camera! 😉

“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever…it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” – Aaron Siskind

“A camera is a save button for the mind’s eye” – Rogu Kingston

“Which of  my photographs is my favourite? The one I’m going to take tomorrow” – Imogen Cunningham

“Life is like a camera. Just focus on what’s important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don’t turn out – take another shot.”
